…how about no.

Amen.  I saw that but sat on my fingers. But what the hell, if someone really does think that not thinking a certain ship is going to become canon is equivalent to not supporting a human rights issue like gay marriage, welp there isn’t a lot to say now is there.  But thanks for taking an issue that does impact me on a personal level and I’ve worked toward in my home state and making it about shipping, that feels nifty.

would it be accurate to say

askancelooks:

bbc sherlock is a poorly-to-moderately accurate adaptation of the sherlock holmes stories

whereas elementary is a moderately accurate adaptation of the characters found in those stories (holmes, watson, gregson, etc)?

This is a pretty interesting point . It’s a bit early to say how Elementary will treat the characters, but I think differentiating between the characters and the stories is probably as good of a way at looking at the two adaptations that I’ve seen so far.  I’m looking forward to seeing just how Elementary does do their thing this season.

No, Dawson’s Creek. No.

I don’t have that many episodes left, but the Dr. Drew episode is one of the more awkward things I’ve seen on television.

Jensen Ackles playing lovesick and unfairly dumped is sort of entertaining, though.  He’s gonna feel bad when he finds out why he was dumped.

Parenthood

Mae Whitman is such a lovely actress. She just made me tear up with nothing more than a look.  I’m so glad that I finally gave this show a chance.

The Torture of First Love

There are few things in this word that I love more than a ridiculously sappy, torturous, angsty, romantic as all hell love story. If it’s a couple’s first love that makes it even better. What this has led to over years of happy television consumption is becoming extremely invested in some television shows that I resisted at first, but eventually I gave in and accepted that Joey and Pacey really do belong together forever and shut the fuck up all you haters.

See, the thing about Joey and Pacey and Dawson’s Creek is that although I tend to think that that first love really is a beautiful thing, in reality first loves are often embarrassing, awkward, cringey affairs that rarely may develop into something beautiful; but, most of the time we just think of them fondly and wonder what that other person could’ve possibly seen in that awkward person we were when we were first trying out romance and kisses and s-e-x. Joey and Dawson were a complete disaster. They were both such jealous, insecure, awkward messes that even a true friendship and love couldn’t get them past themselves.  Plus there is the fact that Dawson may be the worst character ever written in teen drama, did that guy ever do anything that wasn’t totally self-centered, ever?  Just wondering.

So, here I am watching Season 6 of Dawson’s Creek, which isn’t all that good despite having a very diverting storyline starring Busy Phillips and Jensen Ackles and Michelle Williams (I love you Jen!), because I want to watch my happy ending series finale.  It’s happy for Pacey and Joey. I should just skip to the end, but no. I need to watch the entire thing.
